Softly into the woods this day

And what was there…

Crows on the wing

There must have been six

Although I can’t be sure

As wings get mixed up

Far away in the underbrush

The first baby hop toad

Of the spring

Hippity hopping

No lazy stopping

Across the empty sand

The tiniest dimple,

on my outstretched hand

A turtle sunning himself

Or herself as the case may be

on a log in the lake of the sea

A mushroom so big

It would invite even Alice

To sit for a spell

As a long long story I tell

I wonder if she would

If she could

I didn’t see a white rabbit

but, he might have been there

…any old where

Mr. Anole with sticky feet

Came up from underneath

He started out brown

Let go of his frown

And turned as green

As a leaf

Across the land

And to the water I came

Listening …

One step at a time

..to songbirds chime

I saw so much

Of this

And of that

And even the other

I made no difference

At all

But the seeing

Of them

Made all the difference

To me…

  1. A nice piece of “perspective” with which to start my day.
And understanding how important “perspective” is.
I hope your day is off to a great start.

  2. You must be VERY welcome in the forest, by the lake of the sea if your presence didn’t disturb the critters on their errands. They run and hide away from those they fear or dislike.

Magical words and a picture I expect to see a tiny face peering from🧚‍♂️🧚‍♀️😍

    Thank you for sharing both!🤗🥰💌

    1. You make me smile to think so 😊🧚‍♀️.

I saw the big mushroom and knelt down to get a good picture and that’s when I saw the second one underneath! Such a sweet surprise! I expected to see something else too 🍄🧚‍♀️☺️

Thank you for coming along! 🥰💌🤗

  3. Nicely done Suzanne … a certain amount of irony to the phrase ‘not much room at the inn’ and yet – Here we have a classic case of mushroom in and plenty of space for another too 🙂 Lovely words to companion with too 🙂
